Let’s introduce ourselves to you,
our names are Peter Jansen and Annemarie Oolbekkink-Jansen
The name of our kennel is ‘Fresh Fields’, which reflects our situation among
the fields in the “green heart’ of the Achterhoek, close by a little town
called Zelhem.
The name ‘Fresh Fields’ can be seen as a metaphor for ‘new beginnings’ or ‘new ways’, which exactly is the case with every new litter that is born. So that’s the origin of the name ‘Fresh Fields’.
Our dogs live inside and around our house. They can always go outside and stay in spacious meadows. So they do not live in kennels.
Because we live along a country road, our dogs do not have to walk on a lead and can move freely (but well under thumb).
We also take our dogs cycling a couple of times a week, so that they can have a good run. There’s also a nice pond (a toads’ pond) and a beautiful brook (Heidenhoekse Vloed) about 200 meters away from our house, where the dogs can swim their hearts out.
Our pups grow up in the central room of our house, the large eat-in kitchen, where most of the time it is sociably busy, so that an optimal inculcation can be achieved.
Every visitor plays with the pups and cuddles them. This is of course also very pleasant for the mother dog. In this way they are part of the family and accept the companionship of the visitors with the pups easily.
It goes without saying that the pups and the mother dog get all the rest
they need to grow the first weeks after birth. Only after these quiet first
weeks the candidate buyers are welcome to see and admire the pups.
During that first visit we get to know each other a bit. If it ‘clicks’ from both sides, one can choose and reserve a pup. The potential buyers receive all the information they wish and we also show and explain all required certificates of health of the parent dogs.
When the pups are ready to leave us and can be collected after about 8 weeks, the buyers get all the information on paper (copies of health tests, genealogical trees of parent dogs) and the necessary instruction and information about feeding and raising of the pups, so that they can read this information at ease at home.
The buyers also get an extensive ‘puppy parcel’ with playthings, knuckles and of course enough food for the first period.
It is also important to
know that one can always phone us for advice.
We would like very much to stay informed about the welfare of the pups.
